Se les aplicó un cuestionario obtenido a partir de una escala de valoración de miedo y ansiedad, sometido previamente a análisis para determinar la validez del contenido (V de Aiken= 0.89) y la confiabilidad mediante una prueba piloto (Alfa de Cronbach=0.94). Los datos obtenidos fueron procesados de manera automatizada en los programas IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 y Microsoft Excel (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). Resultados: Se obtuvo mayor predominancia de miedo y ansiedad en los niveles leve y moderado, con 48% en ambos casos. Además, el nivel predominante de miedo y ansiedad fue moderado en el género femenino con 20% y en el masculino con 40%, y los solteros tuvieron una prevalencia predominante de miedo y ansiedad leve con 34,67% y moderada con 30.67%. Con respecto a aquellos que manifestaron padecer enfermedades sistémicas, se observó principalmente un nivel moderado con 6.67% y, para el grupo sin enfermedad sistémica, predominó el nivel leve con 45,33%. Conclusión: Durante la pandemia de Covid-19 los cirujanos dentistas presentaron predominantemente nivel de miedo y ansiedad leve y moderado.

Material and Method: The present study of transversal, prospective and observational cut included a total of 75 dental surgeons registered in the Dental College from La Libertad region, until May 2020. A questionnaire was applied to them obtained from a scale of validation of fear and anxiety, previously subjected to an analysis to determine the validity of the content (V Aiken= 0.89) and the reliability through a pilot test (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.94). The obtained datum was processed automatedly in the programs IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 and Microsoft Excel (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). Results: There was a higher predominance of fear and anxiety in the slight and moderate levels, with 48% in both cases. Furthermore, the predominant level of fear and anxiety was moderate for the feminine gender with 20% and slight for the masculine with 40%, and the singles had a predominant prevalence of slight fear and anxiety with 34,67% and moderate with 30.67%. Regarding those who manifested systemic illnesses, there was principally a moderate level with 6.67% and, for the group without systemic illness, the slight level predominated with 45,33%.
