El presente estudio tuvo objetivo determinar el nivel de ansiedad pre-quirúrgica en pacientes sometidos a cirugía oral en la Clínica Estomatológica de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego, Trujillo, 2017. Un estudio descriptivo, transversal, prospectivo y observacional. Donde se incluyeron una población de 96 pacientes de ambos géneros, de entre 18-65 años de edad y que acudieron a la Clínica Estomatológica de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego en las áreas de Cirugía I, II, y III; Clínica I y II. Previo a la cirugía los pacientes tenían que completar dos encuesta de las escalas: STAI-Y1 (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-State) para medir la ansiedad estado y APAIS (Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Infomation Scale) para medir la ansiedad dental. Los resultados determinaron que los pacientes sometidos a cirugía oral mostraron niveles moderados de ansiedad estado y pacientes no ansiosos en ansiedad dental. Según género las mujeres presentaron niveles de ansiedad media 56%, contra un 39% en el sexo masculino con una diferencia estadísticamente significativa, en ansiedad estado; y se encontraron pacientes ansiosos con 62% en el sexo femenino y 18% en el sexo masculino, en ansiedad dental. Según el nivel de instrucción se encontró ansiedad baja en pacientes con nivel de instrucción superior en ansiedad estado, con una diferencia estadísticamente significativa; y pacientes no ansiosos con un 82% en pacientes con nivel de instrucción superior, en ansiedad dental. Concluyendo que se encontró niveles de ansiedad considerables. Donde existen diferencias significativas según género y nivel de instrucción.

That is why it is important to perceive the behavior of patients and diagnose the level of anxiety that they may have in front of an oral surgery treatment. The present study aimed to determine the level of pre-surgical anxiety in patients undergoing oral surgery at the Stomatology Clinic of the Antenor Orrego Private University, Trujillo, 2017. A descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective and observational study. Where were included a population of 96 patients of both genders, between 18-65 years of age and who attended the stomatological clinic of the Antenor Orrego Private University in the areas of Surgery I, II, and III; Clinic I and II. Prior to surgery, patients had to complete two scale surveys: STAI-Y1 (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-State) to measure state anxiety and APAIS (Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Infomation Scale) to measure dental anxiety. The results determined that patients undergoing oral surgery showed moderate levels of anxiety status and non-anxious patients in dental anxiety. According to gender, women presented average anxiety levels of 56%, versus 39% of men with a statistically significant difference, in state anxiety; and anxious patients were found with 62% in females and 18% in males, in dental anxiety. According to the educational level, low anxiety was found in patients with higher education level in state anxiety, with a statistically significant difference; and non-anxious patients with 82% in patients with higher education level, in dental Anxiety.
