description El estudio fue de enfoque cuantitativo, relacional y transversal, como objetivo principal determinar la relación del nivel de alfabetización y adherencia al tratamiento en los pacientes hipertensos del Centro de Salud de Bagua, Amazonas 2022, conformado por 97 pacientes diagnosticados con Hipertensión Arterial, fueron elegidos por un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron del SAHLSA-50 con un valor de alfa Cronbach = 0.92 y r de Pearson=0.86 para la fiabilidad; y de Morinski – Green – Levine con una fiabilidad de alfa Cronbach 0.61 y un valor predictivo positivo de 91.6%. Resultados: No se encontró relación entre el nivel de alfabetización y adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes hipertensos p=0.326 > 0.05 (prueba menor del 5%). Demostrando tener el 71.1% adecuada adherencia al tratamiento, predominando el sexo femenino, donde el 57.7% eran adultos mayores y el 38.1% son viudos; y el 63.9% tiene deficiencia en el nivel de alfabetización. Conclusión: El presente estudio demostró que el nivel de alfabetización es independiente de la adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes hipertensos en el Centro de Salud Bagua de Amazonas.
