Which have allowed us to obtain the average values of the curve of labor. Data obtained differ significantly from those established by other authors thought that the nutritional status, pain threshold, the mentality and customs of our different play some role in childbirth. It has been determined the following types of dysfunction according to the criteria established by Hurtado: Prolonged latent phase also different values protracted active phase delayed, and expulsive phase active parked; not found a factor that conditions these shortcomings, but it has been demonstrated that there is a deficiency in our hospital Obstetric care. A model of labor that can be accepted for use in the various departments of obstetrics and finally the importance of graphical method in monitoring labor for its simplicity, objective with facilities for teaching and research stresses is presented.

A model of labor that can be accepted for use in the various departments of obstetrics and finally the importance of graphical method in monitoring labor for its simplicity, objective with facilities for teaching and research stresses is presented.Se realizó el análisis estadístico de 1406 Historias clínicas: 1171 correspondientes a parto normal y 235 a partos disfuncionales, seleccionadas según criterio de inclusión, el análisis se realizó en el servicio de archivo del hospital de Apoyo – Tarapoto correspondiente a parturientes atendidas en el servicio de maternidad desde 1989 -1991. Los cuales nos han permitido obtener los valores promedios de la curva de trabajo de parto. Los promedios obtenidos difieren significativamente de los establecidos por otros autores, se piensa que el estado nutricional, el umbral doloroso, la mentalidad y las costumbres distintas de nuestras parturientas desempeñan algún papel. Se ha logrado determinar los siguientes tipos de disfunción de acuerdo a los criterios establecidos por Hurtado: Fase latente prolongada, Fase activa retardada, Fase activa estacionada y Expulsivo prolongado con valores también diferentes; no se ha encontrado un factor determinante que condicione estas disfunciones, pero si se ha demostrado que nuestro hospital existe deficiencia en la asistencia Obstétrica.
