For the study, the documentary analysis technique and the documentary analysis sheet instrument were used. The booklet History of music in Peru prepared by Chalena Vásquez for the Ministry of Education was reviewed. Contributions were found in the dimensions of cultural rights, ethnomusicology, interculturality and music education research.La presente investigación, de enfoque cualitativo, tiene como objetivo analizar las contribuciones de la musicóloga peruana Chalena Vásquez Rodríguez a la enseñanza de la historia de la música peruana para estudiantes escolares, desde la perspectiva de la apreciación artística cultural, el enfoque de la identidad cultural y el enfoque de derechos. Para el estudio se utilizó la técnica del análisis documental y el instrumento ficha de análisis documental. Se revisó el fascículo Historia de la música en el Perú elaborado por Chalena Vásquez para el Ministerio de Educación.
