The amount total municipal solid waste that is generated is 10.5 TM/day, and the amount of organic matter is 80%. According to the results in order to reduce the volume and quantity of solid waste is proposed to develop an ecological environmental education for children, youth and the general population, so that in the future will have a sustainable management plan. Finally it is proposed to strengthen an area of treatment for developing compost and humus and the construction of a plant to produce biogas.

Empleando el método de selección sistemática se seleccionó 189 hogares, de los cuales 20 corresponden al estrato central, 169 al estrato consolidado y en proceso de consolidación. La cantidad total de residuos sólidos municipales que se generan es de 10.5 TM/día; y la cantidad de materia orgánica de 80%. De acuerdo a los resultados para reducir el volumen y cantidad de residuos sólidos se propone desarrollar una educación ambiental ecológica en los niños, jóvenes y en la población en general, de tal manera que en el futuro se tenga un plan de manejo sostenible.
