The result of chromotropic acid and formaldehyde in the presence of a red-violet color is observed. Ballerina®, Amens®, Johnson's®, EGO®, Savital®, Pantene®, Konzil®, Petit Post Pon®: samples of the following brands of shampoos were studied. By analysis it was found that 75% of shampoo brands: Ballerina®, Amens®, Johnson's®, EGO®, Savital® and Konzil®, have formaldehyde in its formulation; and 25% for the Pantene® and Petit Post Pon® brands do not show formaldehyde in its formulation

Se trabajó con el método de Georghiou y Ho cuyo mecanismo consiste en la unión de dos moléculas de ácido cromotrópico cuando reacciona con el formaldehído, en medio fuertemente ácido (H2SO4) y bajo calentamiento en un baño maría a través de un puente metilénico. El resultado del ácido cromotrópico y en presencia de formaldehído se observa un color rojo-violeta. Se estudiaron muestras de las siguientes marcas de champúes: Ballerina®, Amens®, Johnson's®, EGO®, Savital®, Pantene®, Konzil®, Petit Pon Pon®.
