This research focused on determining the consumption of 1g ceftriaxone on hospital services (Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, ICU and UCIN) of Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray (HVLE) during the years 2007 and 2008 (January to December). For this, we used the methodology defined daily dose (DDD), so that the quantitative assessment of this cephalosporin consumption was expressed in parameters DDD/100camas/día. It also compared the consumption of 1g ceftriaxone DDD/100camas/día expressed and studied in the comparison of costs denominated in consumption of this product recovered in the years 2007 and 2008. For the realization of this research were taken from the consumption data from the Hospital Management System HVLE, which were processed and analyzed in an Excel spreadsheet, taking as parameters the monthly-annual services.
