Sumario: | We evaluated the nutritional status of children aged 3 to 6 years of age who are studying in the Initial Educational Institution San Juan Bautista No. 1679, the Alambre - Trujillo. Was evaluated during the period May - June 2016, we used the WHO Child Growth Standards - 2010 ESSALUD for this purpose. It was considered: the height/age in z scores (cm/months) and the body mass index (BMI) in z scores (Kg/m2). The nutritional state was classified in: normal, severe thinness (height/age), risk of severe thinness (height/age), overweight and obesity. According to the parameter height for age, it was found that the nutritional status of women is normal in a 91% , 9% presented low height, in the case of men 80% has a normal nutritional status, 20% presented low height, considering the body mass index of girls it was found that 60% corresponds to normal, 30% obesity, 10 per cent risk of thinness pipe, and in the case of children 67% presented a normal BMI, 11% obesity and overweight and 11% presented risk of thinness. It was concluded that more than 50% the boys and girls of the Initial Educational Institution San Juan Bautista N° 1679, the Wire - Trujillo, May - June 2016 presented a normal nutritional status, there is also chronic malnutrition and obesity in the same percentage (14%) as well as low weight and overweight in a 9 per cent and 5 per cent respectively |
