Descripción
Sumario:Risk factors associated with dental caries are likely measurable and have predictive value in the prevention of this disease that makes it the leading cause of tooth loss. We performed a retrospective study to determine risk factors associated with dental caries in children native Aguaruna community of Tutumberos - Amazonas 2010. The sample consisted of 50 children belonging to the native community who attended the health campaign in September 2010, which were studied according to their sex and age. We designed a newsletter and informed assent document where children volunteered to be part of this research study. We proceeded to the collection of data recorded in a survey on risk factors, data related to: eating habits, oral hygiene, weight, height, as well as the crowding that these children had. With the information recorded was determined the ceo-d rate being 6.3, indicating that the oral health status of children of this community is poor, so it was determined the risk factors associated with dental caries being these cariogenic diet, poor oral hygiene and dental crowding, existing predominantly in the intake of cariogenic diet with 80% and poor oral hygiene with 32%.
