Descripción
Sumario:The effect of concentrations 445, 667.5 and 1112.5 ppm of Melaleuca alternifolia oil on germination, growth, sporulation, viability and entomopathogenic activity of Beauveria bassiana and Lecanicillium lecanii was evaluated. To determine the germination, 2ml of the oil Melaleuca alternifolia was mixed twice as siding in potato whey and 2 ml of the suspension of the fungi evaluated at the concentration of 15 x 10 x 7 conidias/mL, incubating for 24 hours at 25oC, the reading of the conidia germinated in Neubauer's chamber. For growth, both fungi were sown by puncture in Petri dishes, contained with potato dextrose agar (APD) and Melaleuca alternifolia oil at the above concentrations, inculated at 25oC, measuring its radial growth for 10 days. The effect on sporulation was evaluated by placing 1 cm 2 of the colony at 9 mL of Tween 80 to 0.1%, performing the conidia count in Neubauer's chamber. The feasibility was assessed by placing 1 cm 2 of the colony obtained in 10 mL of Tween 80 to 0.1% incubating it for 24 hours and performing the same germination reading procedure. We evaluate the entomopathogenic activity by inoculating a suspension of 15 x 107conidias/mL of fungi to concentrations in mention of stage 3 larvae of Spodoptera frugiperda, evaluating symptoms 16 days. Obtained, the germination percentage of Lecanicillium lecanii at the concentration 445 ppm (16.9%), 667.5 ppm (10.2%) and 1112.5 ppm (2.4%), while in Beauveria bassiana 445 ppm (46%), 667.5 ppm ( 28%) 1112.5 ppm (10%). Regarding L. lecanii growth, the percentages of 445 ppm (80% ), 667.5 ppm (48%) were obtained. and 1112.5 ppm (39%), in the same way it was obtained in B. bassiana 445 ppm (70% ),667.5 ppm (47%) 1112.5 ppm (18%). In sporulation of L. lecanii we obtained 445 ppm (62%) ,667.5 ppm (38%) and 1112.5 ppm (27%), B. bassiana was for 445 ppm (7%),667.5 ppm (5%) 1112.5 ppm (1%). For the viability of L. lecanii was 445 ppm (24%), 667.5 ppm (17%) and 1112.5 ppm (12%), in B. bassiana was 445 ppm (12%), 667.5 ppm (7%) 1112.5 ppm (4%). It is concluded that increasing concentrations of Melaleuca alternifolia oil significantly decreases germination, growth, sporulation and viability, but does not affect the entomopathogenic activity of Beauveria bassiana and Lecanicillium lecanii.
