The present work sought to determine the agronomic factors and variability of Tropaeolum tuberosum “mashua” cultivated in the province of Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad region. Agronomic factors (type of crop, number of rotations per year, crop period, cultivated hectares, number of rows, height of the row, distance between rows, number of seeds per point, distance were recorded in the plots of the crop where they were collected. between points, planting depth, yield and soil type). Each collection was registered under the MASUNT code followed by the consecutive numeral, recording the specific date and place of origin, using plastic bags and tapers for transfer to the university city of the National University of Trujillo, where the data corresponding to qualitative and quantitative characters, all taking into account the international agronomic descriptors for cultivation. With the data obtained, the central tendency and dispersion estimators were calculated. A high similarity was found in the agronomic sowing factors among the seven collections of Tropaeolum tuberosum “mashua”. It was determined that there is an important variability in the color of the tubers, both of the shell and of the pulp, of the seven collections of Tropaeolum tuberosum "mashua". There are marked differences between the average values for the characters of length, diameter, weight and volume between the seven collections.
