Descripción
Sumario:This study aimed to determine the level of bacterial resistance of isolates in ICU of Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray lost in the June to December 2014. This was a descriptive study - retrospective cross-sectional, based on the review system susceptibility results achieved in the given period. Of the 21 bacteria, the most frequent were: Escherichia coli (27%) and Klebsiella sp. (19%); more levels of resistance were observed for Escherichia coli to ampicillin (100%), ciprofloxacin and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (80%). The highest levels of resistance were: Klebsiella sp. to ampicillin, tetracycline (100%), cephalosporins, sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (85.7%), aztreonam, ciprofloxacin and tobramycin (71.4%); Staphylococcus aureus to ampicillin, cefazolin, penicillin (100%), amoxicillin-clavulanate, ceftriaxone, fluoroquinolones, clindamycin, erythromycin, oxacillin and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (75%); Acinetobacter sp. to cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, gentamicin and sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (66.7%); Pseudomonas aeruginosa to Cefotaxime (100%), aztreonam, cefepime, imipenem and meropenem (66.7%); Enterobacter sp. to ampicillin, aztreonam, cephalosporins and sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (100%); Routella ornythinolitica to ampicillin, ampicillin-sulbactam, aztreonam, cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, gentamicin, tobramycin and sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (100%). Generally high levels of resistance to cephalosporins and penicillins were observed, which is used to carbapenems to combat Gram negative bacteria, also piperacillin-tazobactam is still a therapeutic alternative for their high sensitivity. Vancomycin is resistant to even low levels Staphylococcus aureus, although the percentages found that they are still worrying
