ABSTRACT The purpose of this qualitative study was to describe and analyze the types of care performed by the nursing team for the re-socialization of women deprived of their liberty in prisons. The method used was descriptive - qualitative. Waldow, Boff and Mapelli were the authors who offered the theoretical support to the study. The scenarios of the investigation were the penitentiary establishments of "Santa Monica" of Lima, "Picsi" of Chiclayo and "The Milagro" of Trujillo, and the population was conformed by four nurses and four techniques of nursing that are part of the equipment of infirmary That works in the mentioned penitentiary establishments. The interview technique was used in depth. The sample size was determined by the saturation method, for the analysis of the data was used thematic analysis. The information obtained was analyzed in three categories: Caring for the "Body" of women deprived of their freedom, with the subcategories: Therapeutic care, Caring for women in a deprived area of freedom; The second category called Care for Dialogue and the third category: Caring / Resocializing for Freedom, with subcategories: Accompaniment of women for coexistence in deprived areas of freedom, Caring for / Re-educating women, from a private space of the Freedom for a social space. The present research made it possible to highlight nursing care in prisons during the moments and life experiences of women deprived of their liberty, in the daily accompaniment during their sentence, contributing to the complex process of re-education, rehabilitation and reincorporation of the A woman deprived of her liberty for crimes common to society within the framework of the purposes of the penitentiary system.
