Conocimiento y percepción sobre la eutanasia en estudiantes de Medicina

: To evaluate the knowledge and perception about euthanasia in medical students of the National University of Trujillo in the year 2021. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A cross-sectional descriptive study with stratified random sampling was performed using a virtual survey. Measures of central tendency, dispersion and the chi-square test (p<0.05) were used. RESULTS: Of the 244 respondents, 54.10% were male and 62.70% identified as catholic. 77.46% of the participants stated that they had studied Ethics and 38.93% that they had had contact with a terminally ill patient. 73.77% of the students had knowledge about euthanasia, of which 70% were in favor of it. There was a statistically significant association between the perception and the religion (p=0.0001). CONCLUSIONS: A high proportion of students has knowledge of euthanasia, of which the majority are in favor of it and about half of them regarded it as a dignified death. Religion is a factor that impacts the perception of euthanasia.
