To collect data two instruments were used: Psychomotor Development Test - Subarea Language (TEPSI-SAL); Test and Measuring Knowledge Level Language Stimulation (TEMNCEL). The analysis of the relationship between the study variables was performed by Test of Independence (Chi square test with Yates correction) found no relationship between the level of maternal knowledge of language stimulation and the degree of psychomotor development in the area of language in preschool. N° 224 “Indoamérica”, en el Distrito de Víctor Larco, con la finalidad de establecer la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento materno sobre estimulación del lenguaje y el grado de desarrollo psicomotor en el área del lenguaje en preescolares. La muestra estuvo constituido por 50 madres y preescolares. Para la recolección de datos se utilizaron dos instrumentos: el Test del Desarrollo Psicomotor – Subárea del Lenguaje (TEPSI-SAL); y el Test para Medir el Nivel de Conocimiento sobre Estimulación del Lenguaje (TEMNCEL). El análisis de la relación entre las variables de estudio, se realizó mediante la Prueba de Independencia (Chi Cuadrado de Pearson con Corrección de Yates), encontrándose que no existe relación entre el nivel de conocimiento materno sobre estimulación del lenguaje y el grado de desarrollo psicomotor en el área del lenguaje en preescolares.
