Sumario:The objective of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of the eye latex Ficus insipida in the control of the nematode Procamallanus pintoi, present in Corydoras leopardus. The work was carried out at the facilities of the NGO's Amazon Research Center Ornamental Fishes, between the months of October to December 2020, for which 1000 individuals of Corydoras leopardus were collected from a commercial aquarium in the city of Iquitos. First, the mean lethal concentration for fish and nematodes was determined, the fish being subjected to concentrations of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mL of latex / L for 96 hours and the nematodes to concentrations of 0, 0.25, 0.5 , 0.75 and 1 mL of latex / L for 4 hours, in a static system and the data were analyzed by Probit analysis. For the efficacy in the control of the nematode, application was evaluated through therapeutic baths of 24 hours during 5 days (0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 mL / L) and application by means of the inclusion of latex in the ration (0, 0.25, 0.5 , 0.75 and 1 mL / Kg). In the experiments the experimental units were distributed in a completely random design. An LC50-96h of 6.45 mL of latex / L (5.05 - 0.15 mL / L, 95% significance) was recorded for the juveniles of Corydoras leopardus and an LC50-4h of 0.29 mL of latex / L (0.15 - 0.37 mL / L , 95% significance) for Procamallanus pintoi adults. Likewise, in the control of the nematode, there was a 10 to 24% efficacy in the application of therapeutic baths and 8.3 to 26.9% efficacy in the application of latex in the ration. On the other hand, there were no significant differences (p> 0.05) between the latex treatments and the control. The efficacy of latex in controlling the nematode Procamallanus pintoi depends on the concentration and the application method, with the application in the ration registering the best results.
