The present study evaluated the effect of artificial intelligence (AI) use on the improvement of the cognitive process in the Legal and Forensic Dentistry course at the Universidad Científica del Perú, Iquitos, 2024. The study was evaluative in type, employing field-based, contemporary cross-sectional, univariate, and quasi-experimental designs with control group, pertest, and post-test. The results showed significant improvements in the experimental group (mean: 14.11) compared to the control group (mean: 8.09). It was concluded that AI use optimizes learning, particularly in injury identification, the application of forensic knowledge, and performance in legislation. However, the latter remained in the deficient category, albeit with a higher mean than the control group. The findings provide evidence that IA significantly enhances learning in the course, with higher performance in the study population (p-value = 0.001 < α = 0.05).
