The present analysis aimed to determine the relationship between business management and competitiveness in MSMEs in the city of Iquitos, 2024. This was a basic study with a non-experimental design and a correlational level. The population consisted of 242 merchants, who were surveyed, using a questionnaire as an instrument to gather information regarding their perceptions. The results showed that business management in MSMEs was rated as average, reaching 26%. This is because business objectives have sometimes been clearly defined; the strategies implemented have rarely been effective in achieving sustained economic growth. Regarding competitiveness, 25% of respondents also gave it an average rating. Merchants indicated that the company only occasionally has adequate processes for personnel selection. Furthermore, training aimed at improving employee performance is carried out only sporadically. Finally, the statistical results demonstrated a positive and significant correlation between business management and competitiveness in Iquitos' MSEs, with a correlation coefficient of 0.743, indicating a strong and direct relationship. Furthermore, the statistical significance obtained (p-value = 0.000) confirms that this relationship is statistically significant.
