| Sumario: | The general objective of this research was to examine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the perception of the importance of the conservation of natural resources in the development of ecotourism, in students of the International Business and Tourism degree at the National University of Alto Amazonas, Loreto region, during the year 2024. The study was framed within a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross sectional and relational design of a simple type. The population under study consisted of 73 students from the fourth and fifth levels of the aforementioned degree, this being also the sample of the study, since a census sampling was chosen. The technique used was a survey, and two questionnaires were used as instruments, which were subjected to validity tests using the content validity index and reliability tests using the split-half method with the Spearman-Brown coefficient (Lengths). Data processing, analysis, and tabulation were carried out using the statistical software SPSS version 27 and RStudio version 4.4.1. The results showed a positive and statistically significant correlation between the level of knowledge and perceptions regarding the conservation of natural resources in the context of ecotourism. The correlation coefficient (γ = 0.63) indicates a relationship of moderate to strong intensity, which supports the hypothesis that a solid academic training in environmental issues directly impacts the development of a critical awareness and favorable attitudes toward sustainability. This reaffirms the role of knowledge as a determining factor in the transformation of perceptions and behaviors oriented toward the conservation of the natural environment. |
