Sumario:GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the association between postoperative pain intensity and the use of lidocaine plus magnesium sulfate in women undergoing cesarean section at the Regional Hospital of Loreto 2023 MATERIALS AND METHODS: Analytical study that will have as study population all patients who undergo emergency cesarean section surgeries with a sample of 73 patients. Information will be recruited from patients with planned and emergency caesarean section receiving lidocaine plus magnesium sulphate. To which the scale called Visual Analog Scale will be applied to evaluate the DPO in the postoperative period. The anesthetic, pre, intra and postoperative characteristics will be collected from the routine clinical evaluation sheet, adding preoperative characteristics that are not routinely evaluated and have theoretical support in the review of the literature carried out. The analysis will be performed with a proportions test using the SPSS v.25 package CONCLUSIONS: The combination of magnesium sulfate plus lidocaine is an option for postoperative pain control in patients undergoing cesarean section in our hospital.
