The most relevant aspects of this study are briefly presented, the main objective of which was to explain the influence of the problem-based learning method on reading comprehension in students of the sixth grade of primary education of the Educational Institution Fe y Alegría Nª 46, in the district of San Juan Bautista in 2022. The research design was field, longitudinal, bivariate and the type of research was explanatory. The data collection was carried out through the survey and as instruments a questionnaire and a written test were used, which were subjected to a validation process before being applied to 28 students who were the population and sample at the same time. The research concludes that there is a significant influence after applying the problem-based learning method in the reading comprehension of sixth grade students, because a regular level is evidenced in 60.7% (17) of them. and an adequate level of 39.3% in reading comprehension.
