Sumario:End-stage chronic kidney disease affects multiple dimensions of a patient's life, with self-care being essential to prevent complications and maintain quality of life. This study aimed to determine the association between the level of self care and quality of life in hemodialysis patients at the Regional Hospital of Loreto, Iquitos, 2025. A quantitative, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with 52 patients. The self-care level showed average scores of 56.1 ± 10.2 for skills, 70.8 ± 10.6 for knowledge, and 63.5 ± 8.4 overall. Regarding quality of life, the highest scores were observed in sexual function (96.63), social interaction (83.85), cognition (81.03), and dialysis staff encouragement (80.29), while the lowest were in work status (6.73), burden of kidney disease (27.28), role—physical (7.69), role—emotional (16.67), and physical functioning (33.65). The global self-care level was positively and significantly associated (p < 0.05).
