| Sumario: | A research study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the digital platform YouTube in enhancing oral communication skills among fifth-year high school students at the Sagrado Corazon Educational Institution in the city of Iquitos in 2023. The research type was evaluative, employing a contemporary cross-sectional field design, with a univariable and quasi experimental nature. It utilized pre-test and post-test measures with both an experimental and a control group. The study population were 261 students, in which a non-probabilistic sampling method was employed to select 45 participants, with 23 in the experimental group and 22 in the control group. Oral comprehension and performance tests were used as data collection tools for this research. Finally, after the implementation of the YouTube digital platform, its effectiveness in enhancing oral communication through media was evident, with the experimental group outperforming the control group (11.563 > 10.135). At last, but not least, statistical significance was observed for the following dimensions: Oral performance (p= 0.000), Strategic Interaction (p= 0.003), and Utilization of non-verbal and paraverbal resources (p= 0.000), with a significance level set at α < 0.05. Consequently, the hypothesis of this research was accepted, concluding that the application of the YouTube digital platform improves oral communication among fifth year high school students. (p= 0.019 < α 0.05) |
