| Sumario: | The research aimed to study the behavior in morphometric and yield characteristics among eight accessions of cowpea Vigna unguiculata L Walp (4 national, three from the USA and one from the Philippines) from the San Ramon INIA Yurimaguas experimental station. Due to its approach, it was quantitative, prospective, explanatory level and experimental research design. The target population was 1,024 cowpea plants, distributed at a rate of 128 plants / accession, 48 plants for each accession at a rate of twelve plants per repetition. The experimental design was Randomized Complete Blocks (RCBC) with four repetitions. The data obtained were analyzed through R Software and its graphical interface R Studio version 4.4.1. Graphic tests of homogeneity of variances and normality were performed. The main conclusions were: the accessions evaluated showed statistically significant differences in the variables of floral precocity and pod ripening. Accession CP0037 stood out in pod length, while CA001 had the highest number of pods per plant. Seed dimensions (length, width, and thickness) in the evaluated accessions showed general variability, but no significant differences between pairs. Accessions CA002, CA003, and CA004 showed the highest grain yields, both in kg/plot and t ha⁻¹, confirming the hypothesis of significant variability among accessions and suggesting their potential as promising accessions. |
