Descripción
Sumario:This research work was carried out in the Loreto region, in order to know what is the current status of the production of wood in logs of the forest concessions and permits within the framework of the Forestry Law 29763. The type of this investigation was exploratory. According to the obtained results, it can be indicated that the number of qualifying titles in the case of forest concessions among 2017 to 2021 was 138 and 757 forest permits. The production of logs in the last 17 years among 2004 and 2015 where the production level is 6 116 125 m3 between concessions and permits and among 2016 and 2021 the production only reached 1 908 110,04 m3. The volume number of extracted species among 2018 – 2021 in the region reached 57 species, 9 of them with the highest extraction, such as the capinuri, tornillo, bolaina, mashonaste, cumala capirona, lupuna, shihuahuaco, copaiba which add up to 54,43% of the extraction volumes. The price of logs is relatively low, in many cases some species do not cover the extraction price, but when it is combined with other species for sale, the average price increases. The most important strengths are the forest resource, the training of professionals in the area in the Forest Sciences Faculty, and the extensive river network that allows access to more isolated places form the depth of the jungle. The most important weaknesses are the deficient forestry law in force, the unviable management plans and operational plans, little investment by the state, excessive control measures.
