Descripción
Sumario:The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of an origami-based educational program on improving the ability to model and transform geometric shapes in second-year secondary school students at the Padre Severino Deshaies Aucayo Educational Institution, during the year 2025. The research was framed within an evaluative approach, with a pre-experimental, univariate, field and longitudinal design. The population consisted of 160 students, from which a sample of 37 was selected. For data collection, the survey technique and a written evaluation instrument, previously validated by expert judgment, were used. The results showed a positive and statistically significant effect of the program on the development of geometric skills, specifically in the modeling and transformation of shapes, according to the applied statistical analysis (p < 0.01). It is concluded that the implementation of origami-based teaching strategies constitutes effective and innovative pedagogical practice with great potential to strengthen teaching and learning processes in geometry. Its inclusion in the school curriculum is recommended.
