Departamento Académico de NutriciónEl objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar los efectos del nivel y tipo de fibra sobre la respuesta productiva y peso relativo de órganos en pollos de carne de 21 días de edad. Para ello, 200 pollos de la línea Cobb 500 de un día de edad fueron distribuidos aleatoriamente en 40 unidades experimentales y asignados, durante 21 días, a una de las siguientes dietas en harina formuladas para cubrir los requerimientos nutricionales de la línea genética (3070 Kcal EM; 20% de PC): T1: 2.6% fibra (sólo maíz y soya); T2: 3.0% fibra con inclusión de 0.6% de un Concentrado de Fibra Insoluble (CFI); T3: 3.0% fibra con inclusión de 5.18% de Subproducto de Trigo (SPT); T4: 3.14% fibra con inclusión de 0.8% de CFI y T5: 3.14% fibra con inclusión de 7% de SPT. El día 21 se evaluó el rendimiento productivo (peso vivo, ganancia de peso, consumo de alimento y conversión alimenticia) luego, todos los pollos fueron sacrificados por dislocación cervical para realizar el pesaje de los órganos (proventrículo, molleja, hígado, intestino delgado, páncreas, ciegos y corazón). Los datos fueron analizados bajo un Diseño Completamente al Azar (DCA) con 5 tratamientos, 8 repeticiones y 5 animales por cada unidad experimental, aplicando el procedimiento ANOVA y la prueba de Duncan para comparar las medias. Los resultados mostraron que el peso vivo, la ganancia de peso y la conversión alimenticia fueron afectados por los tratamientos (P<0.05), lo mismo ocurrió con el consumo de alimento (P<0.05) en donde los tratamientos con CFI (T2 y T4) tuvieron un menor consumo de alimento sin afectar los parámetros productivos. En comparación con el T1, el T5 tuvo mayor peso de molleja (+26.9%; P<0.05), mayor peso de intestino delgado (+20.1%; P<0.05) y, por tanto, menor rendimiento de carcasa (-1.43%; P<0.05). Los tratamientos con CFI (T2 y T4) no presentaron diferencias significativas con el T1 respecto al peso de la molleja y el intestino delgado (P>0.05); tampoco se vio afectado el rendimiento de carcasa. Se concluye que al incrementar los niveles de fibra sólo se observa un menor rendimiento productivo cuando el tipo de fibra es el SPT, mas no el CFI.The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effects of the level and type of fiber on the productive response and relative weight of organs in meat chickens of 21 days of age. For this, 200 chicks of the Cobb 500 line of one day of age were randomly distributed in 40 experimental units and assigned, for 21 days, to one of the following diets in flour formulated to cover the nutritional requirements of the genetic line (3070 Kcal ME, 20% CP): T1: 2.6% fiber (corn and soy only); T2: 3.0% fiber including 0.6% of an Insoluble Fiber Concentrate (IFC); T3: 3.0% fiber with 5.18% inclusion of Wheat Bran (WB); T4: 3.14% fiber with inclusion of 0.8% IFC and T5: 3.14% fiber including 7% WB. On day 21 the productive performance (live weight, weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion) was evaluated. All the chickens were then sacrificed by cervical dislocation to carry out the weighing of the organs (proventriculus, gizzard, liver, small intestine, pancreas, blind and heart). The data were analyzed under a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments, 8 repetitions and 5 animals for each experimental unit, applying the ANOVA procedure and the Duncan test to compare the means. The results showed that the live weight, the weight gain and the feed conversion were affected by the treatments (P<0.05), the same happened with the feed intake (P<0.05) where the treatments with CFI (T2 and T4) had a lower consumption of food without affecting the productive parameters. Compared with T1, T5 had a higher weight of gizzard (+26.93%, P<0.05), greater weight of small intestine (+20.10%, P<0.05) and, therefore, lower carcass yield (-1.43%, P<0.05). The treatments with CFI (T2 and T4) did not present significant differences with the T1 regarding the weight of the gizzard and the small intestine (P>0.05); neither was the carcass performance affected.
