Departamento Académico de FitotecniaEl presente trabajo de suficiencia profesional describe la experiencia adquirida en la Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima, dentro del marco del programa “Lima, Valles Sostenibles”, orientado al fortalecimiento de capacidades, habilidades y caracterización de productores agropecuarios de los valles de Lurín, Chillón y Rímac. Entre los años 2020 y 2024, se desarrollaron actividades clave como el diagnóstico de productores, implementación de talleres de capacitación en producción limpia, desarrollo de parcelas demostrativas, articulación a ferias itinerantes y alianzas con entidades académicas y técnicas. Se identificaron más de 480 productores agropecuarios, con una participación predominante de mujeres, a quienes se capacitó en prácticas agroecológicas, comercialización directa, sanidad pecuaria y uso responsable de agroquímicos. La metodología de Escuelas de Campo de Agricultores (ECAs) permitió un enfoque participativo, logrando un alto impacto en la adopción de tecnologías limpias. Además, se promovió la venta directa en ferias itinerantes y se concretaron alianzas con instituciones como Servicio Nacional de Sanidad Agraria (SENASA), INIA, la Universidad del Pacífico y la Universidad de Lima, entre otras. Este trabajo evidencia los logros alcanzados en la mejora de las condiciones productivas y comerciales de los agricultores urbanos y periurbanos, y plantea recomendaciones para asegurar la sostenibilidad de estas acciones frente a los cambios en la gestión pública y la creciente presión urbana sobre el espacio agrícola.This professional proficiency paper describes the experience gained in the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, within the framework of the “Lima, Sustainable Valleys” program, aimed at strengthening the capacities, skills, and characterization of agricultural producers in the Lurín, Chillón, and Rímac valleys. Between 2020 and 2024, key activities were carried out, such as producer assessments, implementation of training workshops on clean production, development of demonstration plots, coordination with traveling fairs, and partnerships with academic and technical entities. More than 480 agricultural producers were identified, with a predominant participation of women, who were trained in agroecological practices, direct marketing, livestock health, and responsible use of agrochemicals. The methodology of Farmers' Field Schools (ECAs) allowed for a participatory approach, achieving a high impact on the adoption of clean technologies. In addition, direct sales at traveling fairs were promoted and partnerships were established with institutions such as the National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA), INIA, the University of the Pacific, and the University of Lima, among others.
