Departamento Académico de FitotecniaCon la finalidad de profundizar los conocimientos acerca de los ajíes nativos del Perú, se caracterizaron morfológicamente 43 accesiones (18 accesiones de ajíes limo, una accesión de ají verde, 12 accesiones de ajíes miscucho, una accesión de ají mochero, 5 accesiones de ajíes bola, dos accesiones de ajíes panca, dos accesiones de ajíes otros pancas y dos accesiones de ajíes cerezo) de la costa del país, las cuales fueron sembradas y manejadas agronómicamente según el reglamento técnico de productos orgánicos. Las accesiones estudiadas pertenecen a la especie C. chínense (41 accesiones) y C. annuum (dos accesiones) y fueron evaluadas en base a 26 descriptores cuantitativos y 43 descriptores cualitativos, propuestos por el IPGRI (1995). Se mostró variabilidad de datos en todos los descriptores evaluados, exceptuando el carácter forma lanceolada de la hoja cotiledónea, margen entero de la lámina foliar, ausencia de mancha en la corola, forma redonda de la corola, pigmentación ausente del cáliz, ausencia del apéndice del fruto, epidermis lisa del fruto y superficie lisa de la semilla, que se mostraron homogéneos para todas las accesiones. Se confirmó una alta correlación entre los nombres comunes usados en las zonas de procedencia de los ajíes y los datos de caracterización morfológica. Se realizó un agrupamiento de los ajíes, tomando en cuenta 18 descriptores considerados altamente discriminantes por el IPGRI y un descriptor (posición de la flor) considerado, según los datos obtenidos, como importante para diferenciar las accesiones, agrupando a las accesiones en seis grandes grupos (limo, miscucho, bola, pancas, otros pancas y cerezo). Sin embargo, dos ajíes (verde y mochero) confirmaron no tener mayor similitud con los grupos antes mencionadosIn order to deepen the knowledge about Peruvian native peppers, 43 accessions were morphologically characterized (18 accessions of ají limo, one accession of ajíverde, 12 accessions of ají miscucho, one accession of ají mochero, five accessions of ajíes bola, two accessions of ají panca, two accessions of ajíes others pancas and two accessions of ají cerezo) from the coast of the country, which were planted and agronomically managed according to the technical regulation of organic products. The accessions studied belong to the C. chinense species (41 accessions) and C. annuum (two accessions) and were evaluated using 26 quantitative and 43 qualitative descriptors, proposed by IPGRI (1995). Data variability was shown in all the descriptors evaluated, except for the lanceolate form of the cotyledonous leaf, whole margin of the leaf lamina, absence of spot on the corolla, round shape of the corolla, pigmentation absent from the calyx, absence of the appendix fruit, smooth epidermis of the fruit and smooth surface of the seed, which were homogeneous for all accessions. A high correlation between the common names used in the Capsicum source areas and the morphological characterization data was confirmed and a clustering of the Capsicum was carried out, taking into account 18 descriptors considered highly discriminating by the IPGRI and a descriptor (position of the flower) considered, according to the data obtained, as important to differentiate the accessions, grouping the accessions into six large groups (limo, miscucho, bola, pancas, others pancas and cerezo).
