Departamento Académico de FitopatologíaPara el ají amarillo, Phytophthora capsici es un patógeno que está disperso en varios países del mundo causando pérdidas anuales millonarias. Además, en la Costa, la enfermedad que causa tiene una fuerte correlación con la humedad y ambiente. Entonces, se evaluó epidemiológicamente el comportamiento de la enfermedad mediante variables espaciotemporales. La severidad se evaluó según el avance del síntoma secundario bajo una escala de 1 a 5. Luego, se establecieron coordenadas de cada planta mediante levantamiento fotogramétrico de un campo con 1705 plantas de ají amarillo. Durante el análisis temporal, se ajustaron la severidad a un modelo exponencial (R2=0.909) y la incidencia a un modelo Gompertz (R2=0.921) que detectaron un retraso inicial de la enfermedad debido a la temperatura. Para el análisis espacial, el Índice de Morán Global (Ii) arrojó una alta dependencia espacial de la enfermedad llegando a un pico de 0.4 y 0.7 para severidad e incidencia respectivamente. Asimismo, se generaron mapas de calor relacionados con el Ii Local de donde se observaron altos y bajos valores con un nivel de significancia de 0.05. Se determinó una fuente de infestación inicial en el cabezal de riego e infestaciones aleatorias, luego los focos se asentaron en zonas de acumulación de agua superficial. También, se recolectaron muestras de rizosfera por escala de severidad, de donde se determinó la cantidad de inóculo por planta en medio selectivo PARB y PDAA. Como resultado, se obtuvieron diferencias significativas entre la escala 1, las escalas 2, 3, 4 y la escala 5. Además, el efecto en el rendimiento resultó significativo para plantas con escalas 4 y 5 respecto a peso de fruto (22.3 y 18.5g/fruto) y peso por planta (509.5 y 371.8g/planta) respectivamente. Por último, no hubo efecto de suelo infectado para plantas de escala 1 y 5 de severidad en condiciones de invernadero.For yellow chilli pepper, Phytophthora capsici is a pathogen that is widespread in several countries of the world, causing annual losses in the millions. Moreover, on the coast, the disease it causes has a strong correlation with humidity and environment. Therefore, the behaviour of the disease was evaluated epidemiologically using spatio-temporal variables. Severity was evaluated according to the progress of the secondary symptom on a scale of 1 to 5. Then, coordinates of each plant were established by means of a photogrammetric survey of a field with 1705 yellow chilli pepper. During the temporal analysis, severity was fitted to an exponential model (R2=0.909) and incidence to a Gompertz model (R2=0.921) which detected an initial delay of the disease due to temperature. For the spatial analysis, the Global Moran Index (Ii) showed a high spatial dependence of the disease peaking at 0.4 and 0.7 for severity and incidence respectively. Heat maps related to the Local Ii were also generated where high and low values were observed at a significance level of 0.05. An initial source of infestation was determined at the irrigation head and random infestations, then foci were established in areas of surface water accumulation. Also, rhizosphere samples were collected by severity scale, from which the amount of inoculum per plant was determined on PARB and PDAA selective medium. As a result, significant differences were obtained between scale 1, scales 2, 3, 4 and scale 5. Furthermore, the effect on yield was significant for plants with scales 4 and 5 with respect to fruit weight (22.3 and 18.5g/fruit) and weight per plant (509.5 and 371.8g/plant) respectively.
