Departamento Académico de Manejo ForestalLos incendios forestales representan una de las principales amenazas para los ecosistemas y las comunidades en la cuenca del río Ene, causando graves impactos ambientales, económicos y sociales. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el peligro de los incendios forestales en 45 comunidades nativas afiliadas a la Central Asháninka del Río Ene (CARE). Para ello, se elaboró el mapa de peligro de incendios forestales, modelando las tres variables del comportamiento del fuego: el estado de humedad del material combustible, las condiciones meteorológicas y la topografía. El mapa clasificó el territorio en cinco niveles de peligro y se validó con la localización geográfica de los incendios registrados entre 2019 y 2023. Los resultados permiten identificar a Osherato, Samaniato, Potsoteni, Centro Caparocia, Saniveni, Unión Puerto Asháninka, Meteni, Quiteni y Quimaropitari como las comunidades con nivel de peligro “Muy Alto” y “Alto”. En contraste, Catungo Quempiri, Parijaro y Camantavishi presentan los niveles más bajos de peligro. Se implementan acciones de fortalecimiento de capacidades comunitarias en manejo integrado del fuego (MIF), mediante capacitaciones participativas adaptadas al contexto local. Estas intervenciones contribuyen a una reducción del 64 % en la ocurrencia de incendios y del 81.42 % en la superficie afectada. A partir de estos resultados, el estudio recomienda consolidar la gestión preventiva como eje central para la reducción del peligro de incendios forestales. Asimismo, se evidencia que la combinación del conocimiento técnico con el conocimiento local es clave para enfrentar esta problemática, por lo que se recomienda su replicación y ampliación en otras áreas críticas del país.Wildfires represent one of the main threats to ecosystems and communities in the Ene River basin, causing severe environmental, economic, and social impacts. This study aimed to analyze the wildfire hazard in 45 Indigenous communities affiliated with the Central Asháninka del Río Ene (CARE). To this end, a wildfire hazard map was developed by modeling three key fire behavior variables: fuel moisture conditions, meteorological factors, and topography. The map classified the territory into five hazard levels and was validated using the geographic location of wildfire records from 2019 to 2023.
