Departamento Académico de HorticulturaEl Comercio Justo es un sistema en el que se reconoce un pago correspondiente a los trabajadores en base a los costos de producción y un margen que les permita cubrir las necesidades básicas del día a día. Con ello, se garantiza que un producto ha sido obtenido y manejado bajo condiciones sociales justas, respetando los derechos laborales establecidos en las reglamentaciones internacionales y nacionales. Entre los principales estándares de Comercio Justo se encuentran Fairtrade International, Fair For Life, Símbolo para Pequeños Productores y World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), cada uno con sus propias especificaciones y presentes en el mercado peruano. A través del presente trabajo se busca explicar la historia y crecimiento del movimiento de comercio justo, en qué consiste la certificación de Comercio Justo, las diferencias entre cuatro certificaciones mencionadas, enfatizar en las problemáticas del Comercio Justo en el Perú y explicar sobre las problemáticas identificadas en el estándar Fair For Life a nivel nacional, desde la experiencia profesional. Se concluyó que la falta de conocimiento sobre la terminología especifica en el estándar y crecimiento de la certificación de Agricultura orgánica regenerativa son dos de los factores que afectan directamente al desarrollo óptimo en operaciones agrícolas. Se recomienda realizar mayores capacitaciones locales sobre la sensibilización del estándar comercio justo y sus impactos a nivel ambiental, social y económico, como una vía hacia cumplir los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible.Fair Trade is a system in which workers are paid according to production costs and a margin that allows them to cover their basic day-to-day needs. This ensures that a product has been sourced and handled under fair social conditions, respecting the labour rights set out in international and national regulations. Among the main Fair Trade standards are Fairtrade International, Fair For Life, Small Producers' Symbol and World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), each with its own specifications and present in the Peruvian market. The aim of this paper is to explain the history and growth of the Fair Trade movement, what Fair Trade certification consists of, the differences between the four certifications mentioned, to emphasise the problems of Fair Trade in Peru and to explain the problems identified in the Fair For Life standard at a national level, based on professional experience. It was concluded that the lack of knowledge about the specific terminology in the standard and growth of regenerative organic agriculture certification are two of the factors that directly affect the optimal development of agricultural operations.
