Departamento Académico de FitotecniaSe evaluó la variabilidad morfológica del caimito en la zona de San Luis de Shuaro- Chanchamayo, en 60 plantas considerando características cuantitativas y cualitativas del árbol, hojas, fruto y semilla, así como también se realizó una encuesta a la productora con la finalidad de conocer en manejo agronómico que le brinda al cultivo y finalmente se realizó un análisis de nemátodos para conocer de manera general la población que existe de estos en el caimito. En la encuesta se conoció que los árboles evaluados se encontraban en un rango de 5 a 30 años siendo un 35% árboles entre 20-25 años, la propagación se realiza por semillas, el distanciamiento entre plantas es de 6x6 m, se realiza el control de malezas en tres ocasiones durante toda la campaña, su principal plaga es mosca de la fruta, el caimito tiene dos fechas de producción de frutos siendo la primera entre setiembre y noviembre, la segunda entre diciembre y enero que es la fecha de mayor producción. En la evaluación de árboles se obtuvo que un 53% presenta un diámetro entre 10-20 cm, un 32% presenta una forma columnar, las hojas miden en promedio 20.17 cm de largo, 6.09 cm de ancho, siendo el 45% de forma oblicua, 53% de ápice acuminado, 60% de base cuneada, 57% de margen entero, 38% de color verde claro en hojas jóvenes, 73% de color verde en hojas adultas. En cuanto al fruto se obtuvo que el 64% tenía un peso entre 150-300 g, tiene medidas de 79.70 mm de diámetro polar, 68.18 mm de diámetro ecuatorial, 2.39 mm de grosor de cáscara en promedio, los frutos evaluados presentaron un 45% entre 2 y 3 semillas, midiendo 40.73 mm de longitud en promedio y 14.20 mm de diámetro en promedio también, en cuanto a los grados brix el porcentaje fue alrededor de 11.2%. Los frutos presentaron un 43% de forma redonda, 29% de ápice acuminado y 48% de color amarillo.
