Departamento Académico de Manejo ForestalLa elaboración de este documento se llevó a cabo gracias al producto obtenido del proyecto “Prevención yRespuesta a Incendios Forestales enBosques Tropicales y Plantaciones Forestales en el Perú”, del 2021. Este Proyecto fue firmado entre la Organización Internacional de Maderas Tropicales (OIMT) y el Servicio Nacional Forestal y de Fauna Silvestre (SERFOR), con el objetivo de fortalecer a la Unidad de Monitoreo Satelital (UMS) del SERFOR. La finalidad de este fortalecimiento fue de aumentar la cantidad de información geoespacial pertinente para que las autoridades de primera línea puedan prevenir o dar una respuesta rápida y efectiva ante la ocurrencia de incendios forestales, dentro de la región Junín. Para este fin, se realizó un monitoreo satelital de focos de calor sobre la región, obtenidos por los satélites Terra, Aqua y SUOMI-NPP, dando como resultado, las alertas preventivas paraevitar o combatir, a tiempo, incendios forestales. También, se elaboraron documentos para el análisis de la afectación, llamados, reportes de cicatriz de incendio forestal, en donde, en base a, la interpretación visual de imágenes satelitales, Sentinel 2, se plasmaron los cálculos de las áreas dañadas por los incendios. Además, se realizaron diversos talleres de difusión y de capacitación, para que las autoridades y otros grupos de interés, puedan conocer esta información generada y aprendan sobre el uso de plataformas digitales, creadas para la visualización de los resultados. Finalmente, como resultado de este trabajo y respecto a los años anteriores, se tuvo un crecimiento de la productividad, en cuanto a la elaboración de información cartográfica pertinente para prevenir y combatir a tiempo incendios forestales. Como consecuencia de ello, las autoridades de primera línea de la Región Junín, obtuvieron más herramientas para la toma de decisiones.The preparation of this document was carried out thanks to the product obtained from the “Prevention and Response to Forest Fires in Tropical Forests and Forest Plantations in Perú” Project, of 2021. This Project was signed between the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and the National Forestry and Wildlife Service (SERFOR), with the objective of strengthening the Satellite Monitoring Unit (UMS) of SERFOR. The purpose of this strengthening was to increase the amount of relevant geospatial information so that frontline authorities can prevent or provide a quick and effective response to the occurrence of forest fires within the Junín region. For this purpose, satellite monitoring of heat sources over the region was carried out, obtained by the Terra, Aqua and SUOMI-NPP satellites, resulting in preventive alerts to avoid or combat forest fires in time. Also, documents were prepared for the analysis of the impact, called forest fire scar reports, where, based on the visual interpretation of satellite images, Sentinel 2, calculations of the areas damaged by the fires were reflected. In addition, various dissemination and training workshops were held, so that authorities and other interest groups could learn about this information generated and learn about the use of digital platforms, created for the visualization of the results. Finally, as a result of this work and compared to previous years, there was a growth in productivity, in terms of the preparation of relevant cartographic information to prevent and combat forest fires in time.
