Maestría en NutriciónLa presente investigación estuvo conformada por dos estudios con los siguientes objetivos: 1) determinar los coeficientes de digestibilidad aparente (CDA) de los nutrientes y la energía digestible (ED) de tres ingredientes energéticos (maíz amarillo, arroz partido y polvillo de arroz), y 2) establecer el requerimiento de energía digestible para juveniles de gamitana (Colossoma macropomum). Para el primer estudio se empleó el método indirecto utilizando el óxido crómico como indicador. Se emplearon 36 peces (247 ± 16.14 g) distribuidos en acuarios de digestibilidad tipo Guelph a 4 dietas: D1 Dieta referencia (DR), D2 40 por ciento maíz amarillo + 60 por ciento DR, D3 40 por ciento arroz partido + 60 por ciento DR y D4 40 por ciento polvillo de arroz + 60 por ciento DR. Los valores de CDA del maíz amarillo para materia seca, proteína cruda y extracto etéreo fueron 61.81±1.34, 86.08±0.46 y 82.38±0.55 por ciento, respectivamente; del arroz partido fueron 75.86±0.83, 71.07±0.89 y 94.86±0.28 por ciento, respectivamente; y del polvillo de arroz fueron 71.99±0.99, 80.65±1.63 y 82.92±0.05 por ciento, respectivamente. Además, los valores de la ED aparente para el maíz amarillo, arroz partido y polvillo de arroz fueron 2751.11±74.16, 3170.82±46.46 y 3864.35±53.90 kcal/kg, respectivamente. El segundo estudio, determinación del requerimiento de energía digestible, se evaluó mediante el método de dosis-respuesta. Para lo cual se emplearon 60 peces (160.29 ± 1.16 g) distribuidos, bajo un diseño completamente al azar, en acuarios de crecimiento (3 repeticiones de 4 peces cada una) a 5 dietas isoproteicas con niveles crecientes de energía digestible: 3000, 3200, 3400, 3600 y 3800 kcal ED/kg. Los resultados obtenidos, en base al análisis de regresión polinomial cuadrática, para maximizar la ganancia de peso y optimizar la conversión alimenticia fueron 3530 y 3571.43 kcal ED/kg, respectivamente.The present research consisted of two studies with the following objectives: 1) to determine the apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of nutrients and digestible energy (DE) of three energy ingredients (yellow corn, broken rice and bran rice), and 2) to establish the digestible energy requirement for gamitana (Colossoma macropomum) juveniles. For the first study, the indirect method was employed using chromic oxide as an indicator. Thirty-six fish (247 ± 16.14 g) distributed in Guelph-type digestibility tanks were fed 4 diets: D1 Reference diet (RD), D2 40 percent yellow corn + 60 percent RD, D3 40 percent broken rice + 60 percent RD and D4 40 percent bran rice + 60 percent RD. The ADC values of yellow corn for dry matter, crude protein and ethereal extract were 61.81±1.34, 86.08±0.46 and 82.38±0.55 percent, respectively; of broken rice were 75.86±0.83, 71.07±0.89 and 94.86±0.28 percent, respectively; and of bran rice were 71.99±0.99, 80.65±1.63 and 82.92±0.05 percent, respectively. The second study, determination of digestible energy requirement, was evaluated by the dose-response method. For this purpose, 60 fish (160.29 ± 1.16 g) were distributed, under a completely randomized design, in growth tanks (3 replicates of 4 fish each) to 5 isoproteic diets with increasing levels of digestible energy: 3000, 3200, 3400, 3600, 3600 and 3800 kcal ED/kg.
