Materiales y métodos: se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura científica con enfoque cualitativo, de tipo descriptivo, transversal y no experimental, orientada a identificar y analizar estudios que abordaran la relación entre el estilo de vida y el tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Resultados: se identificaron 2,690 registros en cuatro bases de datos. Tras aplicar filtros, se revisaron 590 títulos y resúmenes, y se excluyeron 560 por no cumplir los criterios. Se evaluaron 150 textos completos, de los cuales 138 fueron descartados por diseño, población o intervención no pertinente. Finalmente, 12 estudios fueron incluidos en la síntesis cualitativa. Conclusión: los hallazgos de esta revisión sistemática muestran que la relación entre el estilo de vida y el tratamiento farmacológico en la diabetes tipo 2 es compleja y poco integrada en la literatura actual. Existe heterogeneidad metodológica en los estudios analizados y escasa evidencia sobre intervenciones combinadas o evaluaciones a largo plazo, lo que destaca la necesidad de investigaciones más profundas y aplicables clínicamente. |

Materials and methods: a systematic review of the scientific literature was conducted using a qualitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, and non-experimental approach, aimed at identifying and analyzing studies that addressed the relationship between lifestyle and drug treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Results: a total of 2,690 records were identified in four databases. After applying filters, 590 titles and abstracts were reviewed, and 560 were excluded for not meeting the criteria. A total of 150 full texts were evaluated, of which 138 were discarded due to irrelevant design, population, or intervention. Finally, 12 studies were included in the qualitative synthesis. Conclusion: the findings of this systematic review show that the relationship between lifestyle and drug treatment in type 2 diabetes is complex and poorly integrated in the current literature.
