La actividad antibacteriana se evidenció exclusivamente a la concentración del 80 %, generando un diámetro medio de halo de inhibición de 12,5 mm, clasificado como sensible según criterios establecidos. Dicho valor resultó significativamente inferior al del control positivo (ciprofloxacino 5 μg), que alcanzó 36,4 mm. Se demostró una correlación positiva estadísticamente significativa entre la concentración del extracto y el diámetro del halo de inhibición (p < 0,001). Se concluye que el extracto etanólico de las partes aéreas de Origanum vulgare L. presenta actividad antibacteriana moderada frente a Salmonella typhimurium ATCC 14028, manifestándose únicamente a elevada concentración (80 %).

The aerial parts exhibited a moisture content of 40 % and an extraction yield of 3.16 %. Phytochemical screening revealed an abundance of flavonoids and saponins, along with a moderate presence of alkaloids, phenolic compounds, and quinones. Antibacterial activity was observed exclusively at the 80 % concentration, producing a mean inhibition zone diameter of 12.5 mm, classified as susceptible according to established criteria. This value was significantly lower than that of the positive control (ciprofloxacin 5 μg), which reached 36.4 mm. A statistically significant positive correlation was demonstrated between extract concentration and inhibition zone diameter (p < 0.001).
