La población y muestra fueron 40 madres adolescentes atendidas en el CMI Santa Anita. El instrumento fue un cuestionario válido y confiable. Resultados: se encontró que el nivel de conocimiento sobre el cuidado del recién nacido de las madres adolescentes es mayormente de nivel medio (52,50%), seguido de nivel bajo (40,00%) y nivel alto (7,50%). En la dimensión de alimentación, predominó el conocimiento de nivel bajo (47,50%), seguido de nivel medio (40,00%) y nivel alto (12,50%). Respecto a la termorregulación, el conocimiento fue mayormente bajo (47,50%), seguido de nivel medio (32,50%) y nivel alto (20,00%). En la dimensión de baño e higiene, predominó el nivel medio (50,00%), seguido de nivel alto (27,50%) y nivel bajo (22,50%). En cuanto al sueño y descanso, tanto el nivel bajo como el medio fueron predominantes (47,50% cada uno), con solo un 5,00% mostrando nivel alto”. Finalmente, en la dimensión de signos de alarma, el conocimiento fue igualmente de nivel bajo y medio (40,00% cada uno), seguido de nivel alto (20,00%). Conclusiones: las madres adolescentes presentan un conocimiento mayormente medio y bajo sobre el cuidado del recién nacido.
