Production of mathematical texts strengthens learning to solve algebraic problems

The purpose of this article is to share a pedagogical strategy that contributes to the improvement and strengthening of learning in the resolution of mathematical problems, through the implementation of text production with the integration of the areas of mathematics and language. The research is of a qualitative nature, it was developed within the framework of action research, a theoretical foundation was made, and the objective test, field diary, and participant observation were used as techniques and instruments to collect information. The research was carried out with 47 high school students from an educational unit in a rural area, and was developed in three phases: diagnosis, intervention and impact. The results show that 59% of the students have difficulty in the process of solving algebra exercises and with the implemented strategy, 78% of the students improved significantly. With the intervention of the pedagogical strategy and the integration of areas, not only has it allowed positive results in the area of mathematics, but it has also generated cooperative work and improvement in the production of texts.
