description El delito de trata de personas es un fenómeno que se da a nivel mundial se encuentra dentro de los delitos de violación de la de los derechos humanos y derechos fundamentes tales como libertad personal, la libertad ambulatoria, la dignidad, intimidad, etc. Este delito se encuentra entre los tres primeros delitos con mayor reincidencia, después del tráfico ilícito de drogas y del tráfico ilícito de armas. Este delito está vinculado a la esclavitud sexual y a la violación sexual en contra de las niñas, niños menores de edad, la cual implica realizar actos de naturaleza sexual por la fuerza sin consentimiento de las menores, los tratantes se aprovechan de la situación de vulnerabilidad que se encuentran las víctimas de trata, y son obligadas a realizar trabajos sexuales privando de ese modo su libertad de elección y violando su intimidad. Este delito es uno de los negocios ilícitos más productivos en el mundo de la criminalidad organizada, sin embargo poco o nada se ha hecho para erradicar y combatir este delito que cada día se acrecienta más debido a la inadecuada aplicación de las normas.
