La metodología empleada en este trabajo de investigación fue realizada en base al enfoque cualitativo y con un tipo básico, haciendo uso además de la teoría fundamentada. Del mismo modo, se hizo uso como instrumentos de recolección de datos a la guía de entrevista y a la guía de análisis documental. Concluyéndose que el otorgamiento de la figura jurídica de la prescripción afecta gravemente a la recaudación tributaria y el desarrollo de la gestión municipal, asimismo se concluyó que el impuesto predial es uno de los tributos más importantes que recaba la municipalidad de Puente Piedra y que su falta de recaudación genera una afectación al desarrollo de la gestión municipal. Finalmente, se concluyó que el otorgamiento de la prescripción tributaria de los arbitrios municipales definitivamente repercute en la prestación de servicios públicos en el distrito de Puente Piedra.
