El tipo de investigación es aplicada, con diseño descriptivo, con una muestra que son los parámetros operacionales de la central térmica de Ventanilla, se utilizó fichas documentarias de recolección de datos y fichas técnicas de registro de medición de gas como instrumentos. Se concluyó que la principal medida de mejora, es la de un nuevo quemador de combustible, que reúna condiciones, como que las combustiones del gas natural demanden menos equipos preparatorios que el carbón pulverizado.
