Se recurrió como referencia principal la Teoría de clima laboral de los autores Litwin y Stringer; y la teoría de estrés laboral de los autores Ivancevich y Matteson. El tipo de investigación fue aplicada, nivel correlacional y diseño no experimental. Se utilizó como población a 4 453 docentes del nivel secundaria de instituciones educativas públicas y privadas de San Juan de Lurigancho y el tamaño de la muestra calculada fue 114 docentes. El análisis de los datos se hizo utilizando el programa estadístico SPSS versión 22.0, para la contrastación de hipótesis se empleó el coeficiente de correlación Rho de Spearman encontrando un valor p <0.05, por lo tanto se afirma que existe correlación entre el clima institucional y el estrés laboral, siendo de tipo inversamente proporcional (r= -,457**) lo cual quiere decir que a mayor clima institucional, menor estrés laboral.
