Corresponde al enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, con un diseño correlacional no experimental trasversal. La muestra de estudio estuvo conformada por 170 ciudadanos del distrito de Nuevo Chimbote. Se empleó la encuesta como técnica de recolección de datos de las variables seguridad ciudadana y gestión por resultados; se empleó como instrumento un cuestionario para cada variable. Los resultados obtenidos fueron analizados estadísticamente a través de los programas EXCEL Y SPSS y para establecer la correlación se empleó el coeficiente de Spearman teniendo como resultados los datos presentados en tablas y figuras estadísticas. Los resultados determinaron que la variable seguridad ciudadana tiene una relación directa y muy significativa (p<.0,05) y en grado muy alto (r = 0.746) con la variable Gestión por Resultado de la Municipalidad Distrital de Nuevo Chimbote- 2019.
