Para ello se utilizó un diseño no experimental, en el cual se aplicaron dos cuestionarios a una muestra de 151 trabajadores de la Municipalidad Provincial de Chepén, los cuales fueron seleccionados aleatoriamente. Los resultados evidencian que el 57% de trabajadores tiene un nivel de motivación bajo y el 47% de trabajadores tiene un nivel de desempeño laboral satisfactorio. Asimismo, se evidencia que entre motivación y desempeño laboral existe correlación positiva alta (0,765) con una significancia bilateral equivalente a 0,000. Por lo tanto, podemos llegar a la conclusión que la motivación y el desempeño laboral de los trabajadores de la Municipalidad Provincial de Chepén, sí se relacionan de manera significativa.
