description El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y la autoestima en adolescentes atendidos en el Hospital Regional de Ica durante el año 2024. Se aplicó un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básico, nivel relacional y diseño correlacional. La muestra censal estuvo conformada por 85 adolescentes, a quienes se les administró la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg y el Inventario de Inteligencia Emocional de Bar - On. Los resultados indicaron que el 16.5% de los adolescentes presentaron una capacidad emocional muy baja, el 21.2% baja, el 21.2% promedio, el 22.4% buena y el 18.8% muy alta. En cuanto a la autoestima, el 38.8% presentó nivel bajo; el 34.1%, nivel medio; y el 27.1%, nivel alto. Se halló una correlación positiva alta (RhoS=0,636; p=0,000) entre la inteligencia emocional y la autoestima. Asimismo, se identificaron correlaciones significativas entre las dimensiones de inteligencia emocional (intrapersonal, interpersonal, adaptabilidad, manejo del estrés y estado de ánimo) y la autoestima. Las conclusiones señalan que la inteligencia emocional y la autoestima están significativamente relacionadas de forma positiva en los adolescentes atendidos en el Hospital Regional de Ica.
