description La cuarta revolución industrial está generando aceleradas transformaciones en las distintas esferas de la sociedad. El mundo contemporáneo se encuentra marcado por los avances tecnológicos en materia de integración del mundo físico con el mundo digital y virtual. En estos nuevos escenarios, las organizaciones deben reflexionar en torno a la capacidad de su talento humano de cara a los nuevos retos y desafíos que las sociedades imponen. El objetivo de este trabajo es caracterizar el talento humano en el contexto de la cuarta revolución industrial. La investigación corresponde a una revisión teórica documental y/o bibliográfica. Los resultados arrojaron que las organizaciones deben promover la captación de talentos multidisciplinarios con adaptabilidad ante las innovaciones que surgirán a lo largo de este siglo. Se concluye que las organizaciones contarán con tecnologías que reemplacen labores humanas automatizadas, así como, con talento humano fortalecido en sus capacidades gracias a las herramientas tecnológicas.
