La muestra estuvo conformada por 108 tomografías Cone Beam de pacientes entre 18 a 80 años, tomadas durante el año 2022. Los valores se obtuvieron de la distancia desde el borde superior del agujero mentoniano al borde inferior de la mandíbula y desde el borde inferior del agujero mentoniano al borde inferior de la mandíbula, ambas distancias para los lados derecho e izquierdo según el sexo y la edad. Los resultados mostraron que, en el sexo masculino, la media de la distancia desde el borde superior del agujero mentoniano hasta el borde inferior de la mandíbula para el lado derecho fue de 17,90mm y para el lado izquierdo fue de 17,98mm; la media de la distancia desde el borde inferior del agujero mentoniano al borde inferior de la mandíbula para el lado derecho fue de 15,12 mm y para el lado izquierdo fue de 15,21mm. En el sexo femenino encontramos que la media de la distancia desde borde superior del agujero mentoniano hasta el borde inferior de la mandíbula para el lado derecho fue de 15,77mm y para el lado izquierdo fue de 15,97mm; la media de la distancia desde el borde inferior del agujero mentoniano al borde inferior de la mandíbula para el lado derecho fue de 13,24mm y para el lado izquierdo fue de 13,57mm. Se concluyó que hay un dimorfismo sexual evidente en la posición del agujero mentoniano al borde inferior de la mandíbula, no existiendo diferencias entre el lado derecho e izquierdo y tampoco se muestra diferencias marcadas con la edad.
