Despite its importance, the Peruvian textile industry faces operational inefficiencies, particularly in machinery setup during product transitions, leading to high unproductive times and reduced outputs. Addressing these issues is critical for maintaining competitiveness and meeting industry standards. The proposed study introduced a Lean Manufacturing-based model to tackle these inefficiencies. The model integrated Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), 5S methodology, and Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) techniques. SLP was employed to optimize plant layout, reducing transportation times and improving workflow. The 5S methodology aimed to create an organized and clean work environment, enhancing process stabilization. SMED focused on reducing machinery setup times, increasing production flexibility and responsiveness. The implementation of this model resulted in significant improvements. The Operational Efficiency Index increased from 83.4% to levels nearing the industry standard of 95%. Setup times were reduced by 49.80%, and transportation times between areas decreased by 53.81%. These improvements led to a notable economic impact, reducing annual losses and enhancing overall productivity and efficiency within the production process. Academically, this research contributed valuable insights into the application of Lean Manufacturing tools in the textile sector, a relatively underexplored area. Socioeconomically, the findings highlighted the potential for substantial gains in productivity and efficiency, promoting sustainable growth and competitiveness in the market. This study underscores the importance of continuous improvement and invites further exploration into innovative methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. Future research should focus on expanding the application of Lean tools and exploring their integration with Industry 4.0 technologies to further optimize textile production processes. |

Este sector no sólo proporciona un empleo considerable, sino que también preserva el patrimonio cultural e impulsa el crecimiento económico. A pesar de su importancia, la industria textil peruana se enfrenta a ineficiencias operativas, sobre todo en la puesta a punto de la maquinaria durante las transiciones de productos, lo que provoca tiempos improductivos elevados y una reducción de la producción. Resolver estos problemas es fundamental para mantener la competitividad y cumplir las normas del sector. El estudio propuesto introduce un modelo basado en Lean Manufacturing para abordar estas ineficiencias. El modelo integraba Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), la metodología 5S y las técnicas de Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED). La SLP se empleó para optimizar la distribución de la planta, reducir los tiempos de transporte y mejorar el flujo de trabajo. La metodología 5S tenía como objetivo crear un entorno de trabajo organizado y limpio, mejorando la estabilización del proceso. SMED se centró en reducir los tiempos de preparación de la maquinaria, aumentando la flexibilidad y la capacidad de respuesta de la producción. La implantación de este modelo se tradujo en mejoras significativas. El Índice de Eficiencia Operativa pasó del 83,4% a niveles cercanos al estándar industrial del 95%. Los tiempos de preparación se redujeron un 49,80%, y los tiempos de transporte entre zonas disminuyeron un 53,81%. Estas mejoras tuvieron un notable impacto económico, reduciendo las pérdidas anuales y mejorando la productividad y la eficacia globales del proceso de producción. Desde el punto de vista académico, esta investigación aportó valiosos conocimientos sobre la aplicación de las herramientas de fabricación ajustada en el sector textil, un ámbito relativamente poco explorado. Desde el punto de vista socioeconómico, los resultados han puesto de manifiesto el potencial de mejora sustancial de la productividad y la eficiencia, fomentando el crecimiento sostenible y la competitividad en el mercado. Este estudio subraya la importancia de la mejora continua e invita a seguir explorando metodologías innovadoras para aumentar la eficiencia operativa.
